The Kuwait Financial Intelligence Unit operates within a comprehensive legal and legislative framework that regulates its activities and defines its mandates and powers, in line with the State of Kuwait’s commitments to international standards in combating money laundering and terrorist financing. Law No. (106) of 2013 and its amendments. constitutes the primary legal basis for the Unit’s work, alongside its Executive Regulations issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (37) of 2013, and Cabinet Resolution No. (1532) of 2013 concerning its establishment. The Unit also relies on a set of regulatory decisions and relevant instructions in exercising its functions, thereby enhancing its independence and efficiency in carrying out its supervisory and technical role.
